I wanted to see this movie several years ago when I was studying Nicholas Ray's filmography, but it was not streaming then, and even DVD Netflix didn't have it. Fortunately, Amazon Video has it now. It's currently free for Prime members. It's a classic Joan Crawford as well as Ray film. It has been read "against the grain" as a feminist text. There's also a "pioneers vs. homesteaders" theme that resonates in today's "conservatives vs. progressives battles" -- right down to vigilante mobs, lynchings, arson, and anarchic mayhem.
